When Ben Affleck took the role to wear the cowl, it was a dream come true! I truly believe and stand firm to this day, that DC and Warner Brothers have made the right choice.
I was never fond of Christian Bale. Yes, it was a great trilogy. He just wasn’t the right Batman for me personally. But that is a whole other topic up for debate.
On March 25, 2016 Batman vs Superman The Dawn of Justice was released by Warner Bros. which was a sub-par movie introduction to the DC’s movie universe. It was something fresh and new and DC valiantly made efforts to set up what will be the Justice League. In reality, there should have been a Batman film before BvS just like how Superman did in Man of Steel.
“He started out with all this rage directed at Superman, because of his coworkers who had died in the fight Superman had with Zod. He was holding on to a lot of anger, in a little bit of an irrational way.”
The focus on this movie was so hellbent on highlighting DC Universe’s top prospects that it ended up taking away any fun out of what could have been an epic movie. But now, they have a lot to prove with the Justice League.
Ben Affleck also said that his role as the Caped Crusader will be more “traditional” and “more the Batman you would find if you opened up your average Batman comic book.”
“This is more the Batman you would find if you opened up your average Batman comic book.”
Well here’s hoping. Especially after we lost Zack Snyder due to tragic events and Joss Whedon has stepped in.
Justice League will mark Ben Affleck’s second feature film as Batman (well, third if you count the Suicide Squad) and will be premiering in theatres November 17, 2017.
